Nazi gold train may have been found

The Nazis had named the tunnel project “Riese”, meaning “Giant”, an indication of the massive dimensions of the complex.

An official in the Wałbrzych district, Marika Tokarska, said local military, police and fire brigade crews were looking into the finding of the train. The men described the train as being 150 meters in length and Tokarska told CNBC that she is certain the both would have been warned of the severity of the situation.

The train is thought to have vanished near the city of Wroclaw, which is now part of Poland.

The pair say they will reveal the location of the train, which may have up to 300,000kg of gold on board, for a 10 percent stake in its value. A previous Inquisitr report shared about the potential find of Queen Nefertiti’s tomb in Egypt. Her tomb has never been found, but it is possible that a high tech scan has led searchers to its location. The tunnel was later sealed up and forgotten. There are “actually two gold train stories” in the region, and “no one has ever seen documentary evidence confirming the existence of such trains”, said a local historian, Joanna Lamparska, according to a Telegraph report citing Radio Wroclaw.

A train carting Nazi gold that has been missing for decades has been mysteriously uncovered. “A handful of people have already looked for the train, damaging the line in the process, but nothing was ever found”.

The train is reportedly languishing somewhere in Lower Silesia, south-west Poland.

Others say that the Nazis dug miles of tunnels in southwest Poland for reasons that have never been completely clear, leading some to argue that they may have stashed the gold in one of them for safekeeping.

The £130 million booty was later intercepted by US soldiers – who, according to a later American investigation, pocketed much of the swag.
