NBA Draft A Mystery Beyond The First Two Picks

The Process of tanking that Sam Hinkie put in place has paid off with the No. 1 overall pick and with the choice between Brandon Ingram or Ben Simmons, the 76ers can advance into next season with one of the two best prospects in the draft.

Drafting second will be the Los Angeles Lakers.

The 76ers have the top pick at their disposal for the first time in 20 years and Simmons’ name is expected to be called first at the NBA Draft in Brooklyn on June 23.

On one end, the Lakers faced the exciting opportunity to have yet another top-three pick in a 2016 draft class with great talent at the top.

Lakers” new chant is “We’re No. 2!’. and it feels like a victor: It was a replay of December’s Miss Universe pageant disguised as an National Basketball Association draft lottery ceremony.

The 76ers enter the draft with three first-round picks – No. 1 overall, No. 24 overall (from Miami) and No. 26 overall (from Oklahoma City).

The upcoming offseason figures to be a pivotal one for the squad as they transition from the Kobe Bryant era into a new one that will feature some new faces donning the purple and gold, though who exactly those players will be remains uncertain.

He’s regarded as the best young player in the world, but 19-year-old Australian phenomenon Ben Simmons looks set to join the worst team in the National Basketball Association. “I think there needs to be a blend of young talents and veterans on your roster, there needs to be a balance”, he added, “I would say you never say never, but certainly trading the No. 1 pick is a highly unlikely situation”. Philly has made several picks in the lottery over the last few seasons, including Nerlens Noel, Joel Embiid, Dario Saric and Jahlil Okafor.

Simmons gives the Sixers the best shot at a star, but he will also indirectly cause other roster moves for the team.

The 76ers were easily the last-placed team with just 10 wins and 72 losses. Although there’s a drop-off after Simmons and Ingram on the draft board, Boston’s No. 3 pick is a luxury for a playoff team. “The Celtics really like Dunn, and he might eventually be better than the point guards they already have, but Murray’s shooting ability and versatility might make him a more valuable player, or trade chip, for the Celtics”.
