If you’ve ever watched NBC’s hit comedy The Office and thought, “You know what this needs?”

It hasn’t been determined yet exactly which DC characters will appear on the show, but I hear the list is not expected to include the biggest DC brands like Batman and Superman.

What happens when the market is populated with characters who have extraordinary abilities?

Deadline reports that NBC and DC Entertainment are developing a brand-new series set in the DC Universe, but it’s not based on any hero or comic you’ve read. TV’s last DC Comics series didn’t fare so well, the network and studio are working together again to try a new twist on the comic book TV show. They go on to describe it as being about “the reality of working life for a normal, powerless person in a world of superheroes and villains”. The premise-which has Dwight Schrute and Rainn Wilson written all over it-involves boring regular folk who spend their time wishing they were incredibly powerful rather than doing their jobs, which could explain why the insurance claim process is so slow.
