NC party leaders agree Trump will energize voters
House Speaker Paul Ryan is refusing to support Donald Trump as the Republican nominee for president, insisting Thursday that the businessman must do more to unify the GOP.

Priebus spoke hours after Ryan confirmed CNN that he was “just not ready” to support or endorse Trump. “I’m not there right now”.
Ryan previously criticised Trump for saying that if he did not win the nomination, his supporters might riot at the Republican National Convention in July.
“If Donald Trump is at the top of the ticket, here in Arizona, with over 30 per cent of the vote being the Hispanic vote, no doubt that this may be the race of my life”, said Mr McCain, who lost the 2008 election to Barack Obama. Disagreements over policy and agenda are healthy and as Ryan said, it’s up to Trump to unify the Party. But Starr says to get his support, the NY billionaire would have to surround himself with seasoned, high-quality advisors. “These same people are now telling us that because their guy didn’t win, they want to hurt the party”.
In an open letter published to Facebook, Sasse lashed out on Trump and his likely Democratic competitor Hillary Clinton, calling for an “adult” third party candidate to step into the ring.
While Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell wasn’t effusive in his praise of Trump, the Kentucky senator said in a statement Wednesday that “I have committed to supporting the nominee chosen by Republican voters, and Donald Trump, the presumptive nominee, is now on the verge of clinching that nomination”.
But asked about Trump as the presumptive nominee, spokesperson Anna Heaton said Thursday the Governor was focused on Flint. “And I’m not turning over the keys to America to Hillary Clinton”, Schuette said.
A poll of Republican voters in OR showed Trump easily outpacing Kasich and Cruz last month.
“He has a great deal of work to do to convince many Americans, including myself, that he’s prepared and ready to lead the nation”, said U.S. Rep. Charlie Dent, a Republican whose 15th District includes Lehigh County and part of Northampton County.
Representative Raul Labrador, a Cruz backer and conservative leader from Idaho, told a radio station that he saw Trump as favouring the political “establishment” even though he has run as an outsider.
Warren says what happens next is “a character test for all of us – Republican, Democrat, and Independent”.

“It means that you got to make sure that their budgets add up”, he told the gathered journalists.
