It was on vivid display yet again Thursday night in Foxborough, Massachusetts, as the Patriots thoroughly outclassed the Houston Texans in a 27-0 victory orchestrated by rookie quarterback Jacoby Brissett in his first National Football League start.

Brissett was shown on the sidelines with the training staff having the thumb examined during the game. Brissett was drafted in this week and completed 11 of 19 passes for 103 yards and rushed for a 27-yard touchdown in the 27-0 win on Thursday.
Brissett had the prettiest play of the game on a naked boot in the first quarter that resulted in a 27-yard touchdown when Mitchell ran the only defender on right side of the field off the ball and then blocked him to finish the score. He spoke at his locker afterward without any bandage or ice on the hand. For the first two weeks, it was Jimmy Garoppolo, who has the NFL’s fourth-best passer rating this season.
Converted quarterback-to-wide receiver Julian Edelman served as the emergency back-up behind Brissett on Thursday, but has thrown just one pass in the NFL.
The Patriots have 10 days to recuperate, with only a game against Buffalo (0-2) on October 2 remaining before Brady could inexplicably return to a 4-0 team.
The four-time Super Bowl champion is eligible to return for Week 5 against Cincinnati. I’m not saying the game holds no importance, but with them sitting in a strong position against an inferior opponent, I’d be more inclined to take my chances with a familiar guy who’s already knowledgeable in the offense rather than bringing in an outsider. No team in the National Football League has been better in the first quarter, and it isn’t even close. Rookie Kenyan Drake is also expected to see significant action.
Dolphins running backs have netted only 82 yards in the team’s first two games, both losses. Center Mike Pouncey (hip) also is out.
It has been an up and down ride for former NC State Wolfpack quarterback Jacoby Brissett.

That said, from the outside, looking in Belichick and Patricia just gave the rest of the AFC South the blueprint to deal with a lanky quarterback who has an elongated delivery and remains a bit slow to process information and get through his progressions.
