NCAA denies Will Grier’s appeal
Grier said in a news conference last month that the positive test was the result of something he took over the counter and did not get approved by Florida trainers.

Florida Gators quarterback Will Grier has lost the appeal of his one-year suspension.
According to the Orlando Sentinel, Grier’s attorney presented Grier’s case to the NCAA during a Monday conference call.
Alas, Grier’s rational and reasoning fell on deaf ears with the NCAA, as he will now be out until midway through the 2016 season. He will not be allowed to return to action until the seventh game of the 2016 season when Florida hosts Missouri.
“I took an over-the-counter supplement that had something in it”, an emotional Grier said to reporters on October 12. “I did not check with the medical staff before taking it. I really hope that people can learn from my mistake”. I’m really sorry to everyone.
As a redshirt freshman, Grier played in the first two games and started and won the next four before he was suspended.
Before his suspension, Grier beat Treon Harris out for the starting quarterback job.
Grier’s completion percentage, passing yards per game and TD-to-interception ratio were also the best by a Gator since 2009.
Florida is 9-1 and ranked No. 8 nationally heading into Saturday’s home game with Florida Atlantic.
