Over the years West Virginia and Notre Dame, both in and out of the Big East, have put together some classic matchups, and when the two come together for a second round matchup in the NCAA Tournament in Buffalo today at 12:10 p.m.it has all the makings of yet another fascinating confrontation.

Mar 16, 2017; Buffalo, NY, USA; Bucknell Bison guard Stephen Brown (2) moves the ball against West Virginia Mountaineers guard Jevon Carter (2) and forward Nathan Adrian (11) in the second half during the first round of the NCAA Tournament at KeyBank Center. They shot 66.7 % from the free throw line, they only made four three pointers the entire game, and they had just 10 assists as a team. He’ll need his players at full capacity to ensure the game isn’t as close as the Irish’s game against Princeton.

Brey’s team survived its first-round game 60-58, enduring a last-second 3-point miss by Princeton. Guard Matt Farrell led the way with 16 points, but it was Princeton’s Devin Cannady who missed the biggest shot of the game when the Tigers’ sharpshooter elected to go for a game-winning triple with four seconds left in the game instead of driving to the bucket for a possible game-tying deuce. The Mountaineers average 24.5 points off turnovers per game and 19.9 in 23 games since the beginning of Big 12 play.

His father John played football and baseball at Penn.

The Aggies are no stranger to the NCAAs, having reached the tourney in six of the last eight years. Against a well-coached and disciplined Notre Dame team, sloppy play will send WVU packing.

Notre Dame led for almost the entire game but didn’t close out the victory until the final seconds. So the struggles Notre Dame experienced really shouldn’t have surprised anyone and really shouldn’t temper expectations for this weekend’s showdown with 4th seeded West Virginia. “If you’re asking me, would we have picked them, absolutely not”. We’re going to try and do the same thing to them that they do to us. If they do those things on Saturday we could still have meaningful basketball to watch when the football team returns to practice following spring break. At 6-8, Beacham shoots over small defenders easily and he’s third in the ACC in threes made (86) and percentage (37.6); in 18 conference games, his clip jumps up to 39.5. In her role, she coordinates all media efforts for the Notre Dame women’s lacrosse and cross country/track and field programs.

ORLANDO, Fla. – Trevon Bluiett scored 21 points and Sean O’Mara had 18 to help No. 11 seed Xavier upset sixth-seeded Maryland 76-65 during the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday night. “I think if we’re strong with the ball, looking up the floor and we’ve got five guys who are receivers, I think we can attack it pretty well and get some open shots”.

“Can we make this quick?” “We did not take care of the basketball and the other two times we did”.

Going up against the West Virginia press is no easy task.

“Just great matchups, (Kevin) Pittsnogle, ball screen, stepping back and shooting the three, (DaSean) Butler, you know, through the years”. All you want is a chance to play another day. “I think their defense creates and turns it to their offense, and that’s something that they’re really known for”.

“Gave everyone a show”, Brey said. And then we have to change defenses on them. It was Vasturia who got the clinching rebound and then made the front end of a one-and-one with less than a second showing. The Irish hold a 27-12 advantage in the series, including a 17-6 mark as members of the Big East. “I think he’s doing, in general, a great job”, said Brown, a former two-time Mr. Universe and three-time Mr. The other game was in South Bend on February 11 against then-No.

“They don’t let us pick”, coach Bob Huggins said.

“We’ve got a lot of good players on this team; we always have”, Farrell said.
