NCAA tourney teams sweat seeding, bubble on Selection Sunday

There’s only one significant bubble-situation to pay attention to on Sunday afternoon and that’s the AAC championship game (3:15 p.m., ESPN) featuring CT and Memphis. Top seeds will be awarded and bubble teams will determine their fate as March Madness 2016 rolls on.

Five conferences had their championship games on the last day, meaning the selection committee had to wait to finalize its selections right up until the scheduled 5:30 p.m. Bracketologists seem firmly split on whether or not SU’s 19-13 record will be enough to get them in and even then they seem destined for the play-in game.

What will Michigan State and Michigan receive on this so-called “basketball Christmas?”

At this point, all of the major projections out there have Pitt making the Big Dance in some form, so I’m not going to bother recapping them here. But the Huskies held them off and provided some momentary relief for teams looking for good news.

Things have been in a constant state of flux throughout the conference tournaments.

Other ACC teams expected to be in the tournament are Virginia, who might be a No. 1 seed despite losing to the Heels Saturday night, Miami and Notre Dame.
