NCP MLA Suresh Lad slaps deputy collector of Raigad
In yet another example of politicians behaving badly and using their power to run roughshod over those less fortunate, a Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) lawmaker was caught on camera slapping a deputy collector in his office in Raigad, Maharashtra, ANI reported.

The victim, however, refused to file a police complaint for all that happened and said that he has written a letter to his senior authority and did not file a police complaint for his own personal reasons. Acoording to the report, the incident took place after a dispute emerged on the compensation being awarded to the land farmers. Locals said that despite opposing acquisition of their land for the project, Mr Kalgutkar held a meeting at the Karjat tehsildar’s office to evaluate land cost.
The video depicts Lad grabbing Kalgudkar’s collar as the argument heated up, and then he goes on to slap the Deputy Collector as well.

Meanwhile the Deputy Collector Abhay Kalgutkar has refused to file a police complaint. The NCP legislator denied having assaulted the Deputy collector. Taking note of it, the company assured us that the decision about land acquisition would be taken only after taking farmers into confidence. “Despite this, government officials initiated the acquisition process”, he said.
