NE pols critical of Keystone XL decision

“I spoke this morning with Prime Minister Trudeau about building this infrastructure which should continue to be a national priority and reinforced both the Alberta and Canadian economies need infrastructure that get Alberta’s energy resources to tide water and he agreed we need to work collaboratively on this project”, she said. With countries from around the world headed to Paris for the United Nations Conference on Climate Change at the end of the month, administration officials want to make sure American diplomats are credible when pushing other countries to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions.

But during the election campaign, Trudeau accused Stephen Harper of “diplomatic failure” on the issue of Keystone XL, saying that the Conservative government didn’t do anything to address the Obama administration’s environmental concerns.
