Nearly 100 Pounds Of Meth Seized By Border Patrol Agents

U.S. Border Patrol agents determined that 5 of the men were in fact citizens of Mexico while the 6th man is a U.S. citizen. After an intensive search, agents discovered 39 bundles of methamphetamine hidden in the vehicle’s rocker panels.

The Border Patrol estimated the combined street value of both meth seizures at more than $394,000. A Border Patrol detection canine team conducted a sniff of the vehicle that produced a positive alert.

Officials took the men back to the El Centro station, where they will be processed. (US Border Patrol, Courtesy)”In total, agents seized 38.80 pounds of methamphetamine, 116.29 pounds of cocaine, and 52.69 pounds of fentanyl”, he said.

The suspect and narcotics were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.

As of July 31, 2016, San Diego Sector has intercepted 1,069 pounds of cocaine and 2,166 pounds of methamphetamine during fiscal year 2016.
