Nebraska’s jobless rate holds steady at 2.6 percent in June

Louisiana is close again to its all-time high for payrolls, recorded last December, and nonfarm employment numbers are 2.8 percent higher than before the recession.

The actual number went from 3,600 to 3,300.

The unemployment rate and ranking for each of Montana’s 56 counties is provided below, courtesy of the state Department of Labor and Industry.

Jobs in financial activities increased by 1,300, with most of the growth in finance and insurance (1,200). Click the map above for a county-by-county breakdown of unemployment rates. That was a drop from 5.3 percent in June of 2014.

A new study suggests that fatherhood often comes with a weight gain of 3 to 5 pounds.

According to the release, there are 12,600 unemployed people in Vermont out of a civilian work force of 353,050.

The Hawaii State Department of Labor & Industrial Relations (DLIR) today announced that the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for June was 4.0 percent, down from 4.1 percent in January through May.

Connecticut now has gained 13,800 jobs through the first six months of 2015. The unemployment rate for June was 5.8 percent.

Mid-Hudson unemployment in June continued its long trend of coming in lower than previous-year levels. Employment in government dropped 5,700, largely due to summer break at public educational facilities. The number of people in the labor force fell by more than 4,000, though, reducing the unemployment rate. 9 percent from 9.3 percent in February 2014.

Rates last month rose in 78 of Ohio’s 88 counties.

The Bridgeport-Stamford-Norwalk labor market area had job growth last month and an unemployment rate of 5.2 percent, down from 5.4 percent in May. However, January’s rate was an increase from the December 2014 rate was 7.2 percent.
