Need for Speed won’t have any paid content… yet
The information was revealed during an interview with Craig Sullivan, the game’s creative director had with Vice.

“The plan is that there are no transactions in this game”.
Five Ways to Play – Speed, Style, Build, Crew, and Outlaw – is a new gameplay mechanic which drives your experience through interconnected narrative which are built around five real world automotive icons.
The latest Need for Speed game hasn’t had the greatest critical reception but that’s done little to stop developer Ghost Games from promising not to charge for additional content to the game.
“Since we started the journey to reboot this storied franchise, our goal was to create a game that delivered on what our fans wanted”, said Marcus Nilsson, Executive Producer, Ghost Games. The game, which launches later this week, will give its post-launch content to players for free because, according to Sullivan, “that’s what players deserve”.
Add to the fact that there will be no microtransactions too then this is positive news for players.
Sullivan acknowledged that he can’t say with 100 percent confidence that Need for Speed won’t someday down the road offer paid DLC or microtransactions.
The new DLC model is completely different to previous Need For Speed titles which have typically seen new cars introduced at a premium. All of the content that we’re going to give you – a pretty substantial amount in the future, starting pretty soon – is going to be free. That doesn’t look like this will happen, and this is what is known about Need for Speed DLC Release Date and Reviews.
“Everything we’re doing is focusing on listening to what the fans are asking for”.
