The younger Stevens says knowing the attacker’s mindset is not “super important” to him.

He wants prosecutors to seek the death penalty against the attacker.

“Mina told me that she does not believe him to be a danger to anyone or to himself”, Rocha wrote.

That’s why the seemingly random and unprovoked fatal stabbing attack on a husband and wife in the garage of their southern Martin County home Monday night has captured the attention of the nation, Sheriff William Snyder said Wednesday.

Autopsies on both of the victims ruled their deaths homicides and found each died of blunt force trauma, the station reports.

Investigators said Austin Harrouff will immediately be arrested and charged in the case once he is released from the hospital.

In the roughly three-minute phone call, the neighbor, Jeff Fisher, maintains his calm but tells 911 operators that he has been stabbed and that his female neighbor was attacked by a man he did not recognize.

According to the sheriff’s office, the Florida State University student is conscious, but heavily sedated at a Palm Beach County hospital and is under armed guard.

John Stevens’ son, John Stevens’ IV, has now come forward to remember his late father and express grief over his tragic death. “Without Jeff he could have easily gone from that house to the next one”.

The Florida State University student is now in a “stable” condition in hospital after being tasered repeatedly by police before being subdued by four officers and a K9 attack dog, the Sun reported. Detectives have not been able to question him.

Investigators say there could still be a chance that there were drugs in Harrouff’s system, even after initial blood testing didn’t reveal any drugs in his system.

The Martin County Sheriff’s Office said Friday Austin Harrouff is expected to be charged with first-degree murder, meaning he’ll face capital punishment or life without parole.

Harrouff ‘s mother, Mina Harrouff, contacted the authorities on the night of the slayings saying her son had been acting strangely for days and claiming he had superpowers.

Harrouff was an International Baccalaureate student at Suncoast Community High School, a magnet school in Riviera Beach, according to his personal statement posted on the National Collegiate Scouting Association’s website. “I’ve lost my mind; help me find it”, Harrouff had written on his YouTube channel. According to the Sun Sentinel, he is by all accounts physically imposing, standing 6 feet and weighing 200 pounds.

“I don’t know what you do [in that situation]”, he tells PEOPLE fighting back tears. When asked if he knew the man, he replied, “I have no idea”. “I need an EMT, quick, please”.

“Rage episodes usually occur when they are off the drug”, said Hall, an epidemiologist at Nova Southeastern University.

Hall, an expert in flakka, says he has doubts that the synthetic drug – not as available as it once was – played a role in Harrouff’s behavior.

“One of the first things we try to do at a crime scene is try to understand the motive of the offender, because it is the motive of the offender that gets us going in the right direction”, Snyder said.

Antoniewicz said she knew the Stevens and Mishcon, describing them as “hardworking, good people”. They used manpower, K-9s, and even a stun gun to pull the strong Alpha Delta Phi fraternity member away from him. “But I am not going to watch them”, she said.
