With Doncaster Rovers expected to announce their new manager on Tuesday, one name heavily linked with the job can be scratched off the list.

He was in charge for 38 games at Leeds last season, but his years at Elland Road before then away from the limelight will have been a major factor in Neil Redfearn becoming the new manager of Rotherham United.
Evans departed the New York Stadium in September after Rotherham endured a hard start to the campaign and Redfearn will now be tasked with guiding the club from the precarious position of 21st on the table.

The attacking midfielder was used as a substitute by Redfearn last season, who knows him well from his time in charge of the academy.
Redfearn impressed chairman Tony Stewart and the Millers directors most during their search for Steve Evans’ successor.
“The 50-year-old, who has vast experience of coaching at all levels, plus experience of managing at Championship level, will speak about his new appointment for the first time on Monday”.
After exiting Leeds following an acrimonious fall-out with owner Massimo Cellino, the Yorkshireman’s legal representatives managed to sort out a compensation deal, before he set his sights on a return to frontline coaching and management.

Redfearn’s brief will be to keep the Millers in the Championship – they are now outside of the relegation zone on goal difference after the opening 10 games – while also developing youth players at the club.
