Jeff Minten from the Ontario Fire Marshal said investigators were set to begin searching the debris on the blast site to determine the cause of the explosion.

“The damage that we have encountered as part of this explosion has been extensive”.

Police discovered Nadler’s remains on Thursday.

It happened on Hickory Drive near Dixie and Rathburn roads and both of the homeowners, who were identified as Diane Page and Robert Nadler, were killed in the incident.

Media reports have said there were handwritten notes found near the scene of the blast, and police said they’re working to find out whether the papers are related to the explosion. “So we’re starting to put that on a map so we can determine the whole magnitude (of the blast)”, Beckett said.

The cause of the explosion has not yet been determined.

“They are looking at all documents, all evidence that has been collected”, Colley said, adding that they don’t know when it will be determined if the blast was accidental or deliberate.

Police say the current investigation is criminal, but not now a murder investigation.

Tuesday’s explosion rained debris over the area and forced hundreds from their homes.

The blast flattened the home and left more than two dozen other houses badly damaged.

Until then, residents of those addresses are able to obtain necessary personal items through supervised visits.

The session will provide support to impacted residents and help them manage the critical incident stress associated with the Hickory Drive incident.
