The Palestinian premier also demanded that the 28-nation bloc support the idea of holding an global conference to establish peace in the Middle East. On Monday, Netanyahu picked up the gauntlet and declared that, “I’m inviting him”.

“A few days ago, on Israeli television, I heard president Abbas say that if I invite him to meet, he’ll come”, Netanyahu told reporters at a meeting with visiting Czech Foreign Minister Lubomir Zaoralek. “Any day he can come, I’ll be here”, he said.

“Allowing Israel to act as a state above the law only perpetuates Israeli violations of Palestinian human rights and ensures the destruction of the two-state solution”.

Saeb Erekat, chief Palestinian negotiator and Secretary General of Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), told “Voice of Palestine” Radio that the Palestinians reject the notion of restarting the peace talks with Israel unconditionally.

The last substantial public meeting between them is thought to date back to 2010, though there have been unconfirmed reports of secret meetings since then.

“The first order of business will be ending the Palestinian campaign of incitement to murder Israelis”, Netanyahu added.

Once the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is solved, he said 57 Arab and Islamic countries would be ready to normalize relations with Israel in accordance with the Arab Peace Initiative of 2002.

According to the same source, Israeli forces arrested two leaders of Palestinian resistance group Hamas from the West Bank city of Nablus before taking them to an undisclosed location.

Most of the Palestinians killed were carrying out knife, gun or car-ramming attacks, according to Israeli authorities.
