Netanyahu Says Israel Acts in Syria ‘From Time to Time’
Belgian Foreign Minister Didier Reynders has canceled a planned visit to Israel after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu refused to meet him over Belgium’s support of labeling settlements goods, Israel’s Channel 10 News reported Tuesday evening.

“We are also acting of course to prevent the transfer of deadly weapons from Syria to Lebanon in particular and we will continue to do so”, he said.
Benjamin Netanyahu has been expressing his anger over the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) campaign effect on global bodies which, he claims, is trying to isolate Israel.
According to media reports, Israel launched a strike in south-western Syria, near the border with Lebanon, at the weekend.
Israeli officials have estimated that Hezbollah has a stockpile of over 150,000 rockets, including long range Iranian-made missiles capable of hitting cities in the north and the south of Israel.
He said the activity was aimed at preventing the neighbouring state from becoming a military front against Israel.
The urgent need to coordinate the military actions of states fighting against IS came to the fore after Turkey downed a Russian Su-24 warplane over Syria due to an alleged violation of Turkish airspace.
“Under the agreements we have with the Russians, they act in accordance with their interests; we act in accordance with our interests; and the one doesn’t bother the other”, he said.

Israel has otherwise largely remained on the sidelines of the war, though it has returned fire when rockets or mortar shells have strayed into Israeli-controlled territory.
