Netflix and Amazon: Pirates rip 4K content
(NASDAQ:AMZN). This indicates that there are loopholes within these streaming services, which enables pirates to rip high-quality 4K resolution contents.

According to a source, the pace at which high capacity storage devices are being released, which ranges from mechanical hard drives and SSDs (available at extremely affordable prices), it was only a matter of time before someone found out how to start ripping 4K content from Netflix and Amazon. I expect that 4K resolution releases will become more popular now.
“The new 4K leaks come from both Netflix and Amazon, suggesting that there’s a general loophole that allows pirates to circumvent the copy protection on both services”, says all-about-torrents site, Torrentfreak.
The encryption both these companies use is High-Bandwidth Digital Copy Protection 2.2 (HDCP 2.2) which prevents content from being grabbed as it makes its way over HDMI, Display Port or DVI connections. Developed by Intel, the HDCP technologies protect digital motion pictures, TV programmes and audio against unauthorised interception. Due to the presence of high quality copies of original contents from the two corporations, it has become easier for pirates to copy them.
Pirates can now rip 4K content including movies and TV shows from Netflix and Amazon.
According to Torrentfreak, links to 4K copies of shows from Netflix, such as the original Marvel series “Jessica Jones” began popping up on torrent websites over the past week.
This is not the first time such thing happened with Netflix.
News has it that Netflix now has to contend with pirates who are flooding torrent sites with leaked ultra-HD (4K) videos from the firm.

Netflix and Amazon may have lost their 4k content exclusivity to pirates. The torrents alone can be as large as 15GB per download while the original files can be as large as 100GB. Still, many groups are jumping on the 4K bandwagon. However, the source informed the website that Roku 4K and Amazon Fire TV are the possible sources of the leak as they may not be as secure as other services.
