The third season of the British sci-fi anthology series Black Mirror has been produced by Netflix and is gearing up for its world premiere. And some of them look surprisingly… retro?

Good news, Black Mirror fans!

That’s Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Mackenzie Davis up there in those fetching ’80s fashions, and still other photos offer our first look at Bryce Dallas Howard in an episode directed by Joe Wright.

One pair of images from Harris’ 80s-themed “San Junipero”, episode show a glammed-up Mbatha-Raw sitting next to Davis who is dressed down in a striped sweater and collar shirt.

For now, though, the focus is on the episodes helmed by Wright and Harris, which are the only two we have images for at the moment.

The “Nosedive” pictures seem a lot more evocative from the outset.

While James Norton, Bryce Dallas Howard and Alice Eve make up the cast of Nosedive. The sight of people fiddling with their phone isn’t really that remarkable, but that’s probably the point.

Executive producers Charlie Brooker and Annabel Jones also announced earlier this year that they teamed with Rashida Jones, Dan Trachtenberg and Mike Schur to pen a few episodes for the pending season. While some of the show’s episodes feel more fantastical or far-fetched, plenty of them are grounded in a reality not unlike our own.
