Collen Ballinger-Evans who is better known as her alter ego, Miranda Sings, has just landed a deal with the streaming service Netflix to create an eight-episode series show called Haters Back Off. Yup, that’s right – Miranda Sings is getting her own scripted TV show!
Titled Haters Back Off, the show will be the first scripted series to debut on Netflix that is created by a YouTube personality.
Colleen Evans, the genius woman behind Miranda Sings (and obviously one of our favorite YouTubers), shared the exciting news on her and Miranda’s YouTube channels today. But what Miranda lacks in talent she makes up for in the confidence that she is a star on the rise, and she is characterized by wearing unflattering clothing and a scary amount of lipstick. She’s bold, confident, and fearless despite her very bad singing, awkward dancing, and malapropisms.
Netflix has given a popular YouTube star the green light to bring her scripted series to its platform.

“Haters Back Off!” was developed for television by Ballinger-Evans and her brother Chris Ballinger and showrunners Perry Rein and Gigi McCreery, all four of whom are also serving as executive producers alongside Jeff Kwatinetz and Josh Barry of The Firm.
