Jessica Jones, prior to Marvel’s Defenders slate popping up at Netflix, started its life as AKA Jessica Jones, originally developed for broadcast TV with numerous same creative personnel who would later bring a much more hardcore take to the video-on-demand service.
Last year, showrunner Melissa Rosenberg had indicated that a second season might be hard given Netflix’s filming schedule for Daredevil (whose second season returns on March 18), Luke Cage, and the planned crossover The Defenders. A premiere date is yet to be revealed.
There’s no timetable for Jessica Jones Season 2 to return, or at least that information wasn’t presented at the TCA session.
Season one introduced us to the titular character, played by Krysten Ritter. After a tragic ending to her short-lived Super Hero stint, Jessica Jones is rebuilding her personal life and career as a private investigator in New York City’s Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood.
Marvel has been very successful through the first two series they released on Netflix with both Daredevil and Jessica Jones becoming hit shows.
