Netflix renews ‘Stranger Things’ for second season, set in 1984
Okay, maybe I should slow down a bit.

But in a Facebook Live Wednesday afternoon, the young stars knew exactly what they’d like to season in Season 2: singing. Or maybe I’m insane and everything will turn out fine. Why 9 and not 10? Seeing as Season 1 ended in the winter of 1983, almost a year will have passed for Will Byers and his friends when Season 2 premieres. An official premiere date for season 2 of Stranger Things has yet to be announced. They revealed a new major influence (James Cameron, ) the number of new characters (four, ) and the new setting (the world beyond Hawkins). We just might get some answers.
Given the incredible buzz around Stranger Things, it was inevitable that a second season would be happening. Thankfully, Netflix is happy to oblige, and we now have confirmation that more Stranger Things (even stranger things?) is on the way for 2017.
I think I’m gonna need about eight pairs of eyeballs to keep up with all the awesome TV we have.
Season 2 will take place in Hawkins, Indiana, and follow the same story as in Season 1.. “We leave that up in the air”. That’s something we batted around from the very beginning.
All of the show runners, including Matt and Ross Duffer, who created, wrote and directed the first season are back. We could explore it if Netflix wanted to continue. But he’s brilliant. And I think one of the reasons his sequels are as successful as they are is he makes them feel very different without losing what we loved about the original. “There’s a lot more mystery there to be solved.” says Ross.

Fans also have the lingering questions after season 1 of whether or not Demogorgon was the only monster.
