Netflix Reportedly Bringing “Star Wars” To Streaming; Three Live-Action Series
This wouldn’t be the first time Star Wars was exclusively on Netflix as the VoD provider was the host for the final season of The Clone Wars.

The notion of a live-action Star Wars TV series is something of a perpetual-motion machine, spinning in circles year after year. I assume they don’t mean the premise is like ‘Agents of Shield.’. And though those rumors remain unconfirmed and this should be taken with a sizable grain of salt, given the rumor’s source, a site called Cinelinx is throwing some wood on the fire by reporting that Disney is planning to continue its Marvel partnership with streaming giant Netflix by collaborating on as many as three live-action Star Wars series.
As with the original suggestion, said TV series could potentially shoot at the same United Kingdom Pinewood studios of the films, lowering costs by reusing certain sets, and keeping the majority of production in-house between cinematic chapters. Or would you rather see these shows broadcast through traditional network/cable/satellite channels? Apparently, George Lucas has scripts for a more in-depth look at the world of the prequels stored in the Lucasfilm archives that are a different tone to the films, exploring a darker side to the Star Wars universe.
Disney already has a deal in place with Netflix to create Marvel-based shows, such as Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron-Fist and Luke Cage – with more on the way – so Netflix seems like an ideal home for Star Wars.

A live-action Star Wars series has been on the cards for a long time. In the cinemas in addition to the new trilogy that stars this Christmas with The Force Awakens, the company is also working on a number of spin-off “Anthology” films, starting with Star Wars: Rogue One in December 2016.
