Okay, maybe I should slow down a bit.

The Duffers told EW.com that they considered using a flash-forward for Season 2 before settling on simply continuing the story from where Season 1 left off. Or maybe I’m insane and everything will turn out fine.

The Duffer Brothers, as they are professionally known, told Entertainment Weekly that season two will be set in 1984 and that the films of writer-director James Cameron will be an influence. Why 9 and not 10? There’s no casting news yet but it’s probably safe to say we’ll see most of the original cast back, including Winona Ryder, David Harbour and those extraordinary kids.

Executive producers Shawn Levy, Dan Cohen and the Duffer Brothers will all also return for the second season, with the show being produced by 21 Laps for Netflix. No news of cast changes yet, although we know that four new characters will be showing up. He went on to reveal that Hawkin’s won’t be the only setting, stating “We will venture a little bit outside of Hawkins. We leave that up in the air”. Of course, the Duffer Brothers did not reveal her fate. “It’s open-ended in a way that if people wanted it, and Netflix wanted it, we could explore it and continue the storyline”. What with all the awesome shows we have already and the pending return of Tales from the Crypt, it appears as if we will have even more Stranger Things.

Fans also have the lingering questions after season 1 of whether or not Demogorgon was the only monster.

On Wednesday, the streaming site Netflix released a teaser trailer announcing it has given the green light for the surprising summer hit. It will still follow the same characters while adding more mysteries.
