Nets fall to Cavs as LeBron James hits game-winner

“I feel like I can make something happen for not only myself but for our team”.

Joe Johnson hero ball initially failed after missing a turnaround jumper, but the old Nets hero made up for the miss after getting fouled behind the three-point line with 14 seconds left.

James took the inbounds pass, dribbled the clock down and drove the lane before floating up the victor. It didn’t work. Then James made his fateful shot. I work on my game a lot.

“I’ve made layups. I’ve made pull-ups”.

James believed it was the first time he hit a game-winner with a hook shot. I know I can go out and get mine when I need it. But I need Kev to be as aggressive as he was (against Memphis), and when he rebounds at the level he did (against Memphis), the shots will automatically fall for him. Coach David Blatt said that fatigue was a big factor in their fourth loss of the season, all on the road. “Yep. Give it to No. 23”.

James and Kevin Love each scored 26 points, while James added nine rebounds and five assists.

The Cavs didn’t take their first lead until a 3-pointer from Love with 4:50 left in the third quarter. Their starters – specifically, Lopez, Thaddeus Young, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson (inserted into the starting unit at the request of the front office, 6 points, 10 rebounds, 5 steals on Saturday night) and, surprisingly, Jack – have played pretty darn well.

As for the Hornets, Kemba Walker scored 18 points, while Nicolas Batum added 17 points and eight rebounds to lead the team, but unfortunately, it was not enough to give their team the W. A 13-3 run of their own brought balance, and Cleveland needed LeBron James to make all three free throws to end the half tied.

Forward Paul George scored 33 points, while guard C.J. Miles scored 16 first-half points as the Indiana Pacers grabbed control early on their way to a 104-92 victory over the Chicago Bulls.

Oregon Live reported that the Cavs then rallied to take a 97-86 with a 3-pointer and a driving lay-up by Dellavedova. 391 at halftime, thanks largely to a 6-for-9 effort from Mo Williams (14 points) and a 26-second stretch that saw it cut a 12-point deficit to five. “Next thing you know, it’s a 25-0 run”, Lamb said after the game. “They don’t really care about that”.

The Hornets are undefeated in the first four games of their current seven-game homestand that started with a win against the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday last week. “It’s the weekend, so I’m ready to get home and do that, too”.

Going back to what Hollins said about Love being in shape: There were reports that LeBron was irked that K-Love wasn’t in top shape.

Nets coach Lionel Hollins immediately noticed his improved physique. He’s looked as good as ever thus far. “And I think that being with LeBron has helped him see that level and move toward that level”. Batum handed out a season-high 11 assists in the win and has at least eight in three of the last four contests.BUZZER BEATERS1.
