#NeverTrump Is Over, and Donald Trump Will Be the Republican Nominee

Trump campaign and Republican National Committee officials say they expect to prevent her from accomplishing that.

“My support of Donald Trump is support of the Republican Party and the ideals and beliefs that Republicans do a better job in running the country than the Democratic Party”, said delegate John Roberts, 37, of Oklahoma City.

But many presidents have overcome their limitations and become good leaders, he said, and Anderson said he fully believes that Trump – “if he wins” – has the possibility of being a good president.

All of a sudden, some delegates are heaving a sigh, wondering yet again – albeit privately – if they have candidate they can trust.

Thomas said it could set a bad precedent to adopt a last-moment change to rules that were laid out in advance of primaries and caucuses that drew millions of voters nationwide.

This, in theory, could have opened the door for an alternative candidate to emerge at the convention and somehow leave Cleveland as the Republican Party’s presidential nominee. Tex Cruz, who pushed attempts to weaken the RNC chairman as well as to encourage states to restrict participation in primaries to keep out non-Republicans.

That movement was dealt a major defeat on Thursday when it was rejected by the rules committee at the convention. But she said she and her allies, citing a belief that they already have a right to vote their conscience, will oppose Trump’s nomination in the gathering’s roll call next week.

That means 36 state delegates will go for Trump; 13 will vote for Texas Sen.

Much of his potential success – or failure – is on Trump’s own shoulders, Anderson said.

“My goal has always been to make a difference in the biggest way possible, and if one day that’s a political realm then that’s what I’ll do”, Tebow said.

It runs through Thursday.

With festivities officially scheduled to kick off in downtown Cleveland on Monday, July 18, Donald Trump’s coronation includes a colorful mix of speakers topped by the likes of former rival Ted Cruz, daughter Ivanka Trump and billionaire Silicon Valley entrepreneur Peter Thiel. While “Never Trump” activists have long faced seemingly insurmountable hurdles, the Republican National Committee was anxious enough about these efforts to launch a whip team to lobby members of the Rules Committee, helping ensure this outcome.

Despite the results of primary elections, KHOU 11 News Political Analyst Bob Stein explained there is a small chance Trump could lose the nomination. “They yanked it. They changed the numbers”, he said.

RNC strategist Sean Spicer said the negotiations were far more complicated than that, involving a number of disparate issues.

Tim Tebow says God has a plan for everyone but it's not in God's plan for him to speak at the Republican National Convention
