Neville will not quit Valencia
He has remained defiant in the face of calls for him to step down, with Valencia having failed to win in nine league games since he took charge in December, and another humiliation on Wednesday could force the hand of owner Peter Lim.

Gary Neville remains “determined and positive” in his determination to win over Valencia supporters. I know the situation we find ourselves in and I’m desperate to turn the situation around.
The 7-0 thrashing suffered in the Camp Nou last week means it would need a miracle of unheard of proportions for Valencia to be able to turn the tie around, making the 90 minutes to be played on the pitch at the Mestalla Stadium all but irrelevant in football terms.
Gary Neville’s Valencia side face Barcelona in tonight’s Copa del Rey semi-final second leg, but after the 7-0 first-leg loss they could be forgiven for looking ahead to Saturday’s cruicial match against Espanyol.
Neville has not won any of his first nine La Liga games and the the team have slumped to 14th in the Primera Division table, just four points above the relegation zone.
“At this moment in time the results are obviously testing, they create moments where you want it to turn around so desperately for them (fans)”.
“This is my 30th press conference in 60 days”, said Neville.
It will also be trying to win its 11th game in a row in all competitions.
“The fans of this football club were here long before me, and will be here long after me”.
“The chances we had to win these games are quite incredible”.
“I’m determined to go onto the streets of Valencia, look them in the eye and give them what they want”.
Not that club records such as this interest the coach: “Numbers are great as long as they help to lead us towards titles“, the biggest evidence of that is the travelling squad.
