New and sexy look at Poison Ivy in Fox’s Gotham
The announcement is interesting in a couple of ways, the first of which is that it will continue the trend of “Gotham” focusing on the “origins” of the villains that DC fans have come to know and loathe. At the Television Critics Association summer press tour, Stephens revealed that he was interested in creating an origin story for The Joker’s flame. Out of TCA, Gotham bosses explain the decision to age up Claire Foley’s li’l Poison Ivy into a young seductress, as well previewing proto-Suicide Squad members like Killer Croc, and a Joker cult in Season 4. “We’ll be seeing proto-versions of some of those characters”.

“The Harley Quinn of it all is a bit more of a sticky wicket but it’s one we’ve already thought about for the character”.
Gotham EPs revealed to Deadline that we will be seeing proto-versions of Killer Croc and Harley Quinn.
That evolution is in keeing with what the series did with the character of Jerome (Cameron Monaghan), who was a prototype for the Joker.
The synopsis also gives us some intriguing teases about the Court of Owls (which is called Court of The Owls in the synopsis), the Mad Hatter, and the Tweedle Tweed Brothers, as well as what Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) will be up to in Season 3. “So we always reserve the right to sort of do that as well”, said Woodruff.
Gotham returns for its third season this fall with the premiere scheduled for September 19th at 8 pm on Fox. “You’ll see these different versions of the Joker myth that developed with Jerome and other characters, that when you put those pieces together, you’ll go, ‘Oh, eventually that’s what the Joker will become'”. With the monters from Indian Hill escaped and let loose on Gotham by the end season 2, there will be a possiblity that the likes of Harley and Croc could apear in the show.
Also, Stephens adds that season 3 of Gotham will look more into the escaped “monsters” that have taken refuge in the city.
