Apple is preparing to launch new iMac models with improved display and CPU components, according to a new analyst report.

Kuo did not confirm what iMac models will be receiving these updates.

Retina display or not, Kuo reveals that the new display will feature better color saturation, something that will be achieved by Apple with a LED phosphor material dubbed as ‘KSF.’.

Kuo stated that the iMacs will have “key selling points such as more powerful processors and much better display quality”.

Apple’s 2015 iMac upgrade is expected to use phosphor material, which is said to improve color saturation significantly on the new displays.

However apart from those alleged changes, Kuo does not mention if the rumored 4K 21.5-inch iMac will make an appearance. The last time that Apple updated its iMac lineup was in September 2013, as the company felt the need to wait for the release of new desktop processors from Intel. Professionals always want the highest resolution, and the iMac is now way ahead in that regard.

However, a recent leak from Apple display supplier LG indicated an iMac with an 8K display could be a possibility. His latest prediction is that Apple will unveil revised iMac models in the third quarter of 2015 with some considerable enhancements. In a recently concluded quarterly results conference call, Apple announced to investors that the company’s Mac sales enjoyed a 9 percent jump year-over-year. One thing that remains unclear is if Apple is going to bring the Retina display to its 21.5-inch iMac lineup, once the refresh does make the cut, of course.
