There’s a new expansion for fantasy role-playing game Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition in the works. In other words it will be a new story after the death of Sarevok but before the rise of Irenicus.

Expand Your Story: Explore new areas, fight new monsters, and win new rewards in the Siege of Dragonspear expansion to Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition.

The expansion also allows you to import your Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition character and export it for Baldur’s Gate 2: Enhanced Edition, maintaining continuity between the original versions of the games.

Baldur’s Gate: Siege of Dragonspear will be released on Linux, Mac, and PC before the end of the year with an Android and iOS released expected “shortly thereafter”.

Though Sarevok is dead and his plan for war averted, peace eludes the citizens of Baldur’s Gate. It’s set between Baldur’s Gate and Baldur’s Gate 2, and, as stated by Beamdog, offers around 25 hours of gameplay. A crusade marches from the north, seizing supplies, forcing locals into military service, and disrupting trade along the Sword Coast.

Siege of Dragonspear adds a new chapter to the Bhaalspawn saga, developer Beamdog has announced.

A price or release date was not confirmed, but we’ll keep you guys posted.
