New batch of Clinton emails raises big questions
A fresh batch of previously-unreleased State Department emails are raising new questions about the relationship between the Clinton Foundation and the State Department during the years Hillary Clinton served as Secretary of State.

The FBI director told the committee he saw evidence of “great carelessness” in Clinton’s use of a private email server, but that he did not see “enough evidence” to establish a case based on gross negligence.
Ms Abedin replied: “Personnel has been sending him options”.
Representatives from the Clinton Foundation, FBI and DOJ declined to comment.
The issue of Clinton’s use of personal computer server has dogged her campaign for months. “Very imp”, Mr Band wrote. “And you can bet if Cheryl Mills knew about this inquiry, then Hillary Clinton did, too”.
Abedin emailed back that the person Chagoury should speak with was Jeffrey Feltman, who had recently left his post as the US ambassador to Lebanon. I was hoping you might intervene to make sure [redacted] was taken seriously and considered for a proper responsible position.
“I call it life”, the Somerville Democrat said in a feisty conversation with Boston Herald Radio’s Hillary Chabot.
The hundred of pages of emails build on what the family’s critics see as a long trail of accusations and unseemly connections between the Clinton charity and the Clinton State Department.
High-ranking Justice Department officials had urged the agency to pursue a public corruption investigation earlier this year, but their requests were denied shortly after the FBI was made aware of “suspicious activity” between a foreign donor and the Clinton Foundation.
With criticism over his Wilmington speech still ringing in his ears, Donald Trump went on the offensive Wednesday, mocking rival Hillary Clinton after the latest release of emails from her time as Secretary of State.
In another, Band sought to get an unidentified person a job in the State Department. On a trip to NY in 2012, Mills interviewed two executives for a top position at the Clinton foundation. Abedin at times held overlapping jobs with the State Department, Teneo, and the Clinton Foundation, an arrangement that Judicial Watch has questioned through a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit.
“Anything less than a full release of these public records before voting begins will only further prove that we have a rigged system that has one set of rules political elites and another for everyone else”, Priebus said in a statement. “They’re not transparent… And I don’t foreclose the possibility that the Clinton Foundation will continue to operate and that they will raise money from some of the same places”.
Clinton’s presidential campaign re-iterated that Mills was working as a volunteer on the trip.
“The disconnect between these new revelations and her sworn testimony suggests Mills gave a misleading account under oath to hide an attempted cover up of Clinton’s reckless email arrangement”, Short said in an email to ABC News.
Several months ago, FBI and Justice Department officials met to discuss opening a criminal investigation into potential public corruption at the Clinton Foundation, CNN reported Thursday, citing “a US official”. The Justice Department had looked into whether it should open a case on the foundation a year prior and found it didn’t have sufficient evidence to do so.

Comey reiterated before a hearing in July that they “did not find clear evidence that Secretary Clinton or her colleagues meant to violate laws governing the handling of classified information”.
