New Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders DVD Art and Details Released

More recent screen versions of Batman have focused on the scarier side of the Dark Knight, so if you’re longing for the days of the breezier, campier TV series and its movie spin-offs, DC Entertainment has you covered. That’s why we still get the occasional, “Zap, Pow, Bang!” Caped Crusaders looks to deliver all the camp, along with bigger, more exciting action. The studio has announced plans to release a full-length animated Batman feature film called ‘Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders, ‘ and it will reunite the cast from popular television series.

There’s been a lot of poorly received Batman releases in the a year ago, from the disappointing Batman v Superman movie, to the recent animated adaptation of The Killing Joke and its portrayal of violence against women.

Does anyone else notice that Chief O’Hara seemed to visibly wince when Commissioner Gordon told Batman that he was their only hope?

Hopefully, Return of the Caped Crusaders is a success so that DC and Warner Bros.

In the film, Batman, Robin and the rest of Gotham City are threatened by many of their most well-known villains, namely Joker, Riddler, Penguin and Catwoman.

Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders will be available via Digital HD on October 11, with the Blu-Ray Combo Pack and DVD following on November 1.

Warner Bros. teases the story stating, “The four Super-Villains have combined their wicked talents to hatch a plot so nefarious that the Dynamic Duo will need to go to outer space (and back) to foil their arch enemies and restore order in Gotham City”.
