New CBS Poll Find Big Lead for Ted Cruz in Iowa
Rand Paul (R-KY), suggested that polls showing Trump with a huge, 20-point lead may be exaggerating.

And then, over the weekend, Bush called Trump a “jerk” during a campaign rally in New Hampshire. Clinton ties retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson at 45 percent. These numbers push Cruz (30.2) to a four point lead in the RealClearPolitics average, followed by Trump (26.2%), Rubio (12.3%) and Carson (10.0%), with all of the other candidates now averaging in the single digits.
What’s dragging Bush down: He’s the least-favorable Republican candidate in the field.
The Texas Senator grabbed the support of 40 percent of likely Republican caucus-goers in Iowa in the poll.
“I think I’ll win the Hispanic vote”, Trump told reporters after touring the bridge. While a third of them did the entire survey online, one third answered questions asked by a live person on the phone and the remaining third finished the poll with an automated voice. He addressed the crowd for about 75 minutes, talking among a wide range of topics that would frequently split into tangents about specific media entities and stories from his business deals. The consistent themes across the three early states seem to be that Trump may be near his ceiling finally, but nothing he does or says is deflating him.
In this ad Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz talks about stopping unlawful immigration & “securing our borders”.
‘So being the frontrunner made me feel like that people are going to begin to say, well, the guy is just dancing right through this, ‘ Bush said of himself. Should Christie finish ahead of Rubio in New Hampshire, it will become even harder for mainstream Republicans to settle on a consensus alternative to the Trump/Cruz faction. That might not be as true, however, in a public setting such as the Iowa caucus, where people identify their candidate preference in front of friends and neighbors. Sanders will spend three days this week campaigning in Western Iowa while Clinton has visits on Tuesday scheduled for Keota, Fairfield and Bettendorf.
‘And I totally get it, ‘ Bush continued. “A key here may be the energy that his supporters have”. He garnered 44% support to Clinton’s 43%, with 13% of surveyed voters undecided.
Cruz aired a new Dr. Seuss-style parody Saturday night during “Saturday Night Live” that included him reading such classics as “Rudolph The Unemployed Reindeer” and “The Grinch Who Lost Her Emails” to his two daughters next to their Christmas tree.
