According to RealClearPolitics, which keeps track of all major national polls, Clinton’s average lead over Trump now stands at 6.8 percentage points. Her negative rating moved to 53 percent. “Donald Trump is unqualified to be president”, Clinton said.
WASHINGTON ― Rounding out one of the worst weeks in his presidential campaign, Donald Trump faces yet another sad reality. Gordon Humphrey says Donald Trump’s “a sociopath”.
In New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, and MI – states that have trended Democratic in recent elections, but whose economics and demographics seem to pose an opening for the GOP nominee – Clinton has made strides in improving her favorable ratings, while Trump remains challenged by high unfavorable ratings and resistance from a significant portion of Republicans. “Now, I’ve got to tell you, I take this really personally”, she said. Adults 18 years of age and older residing in the contiguous United States were contacted on landline or mobile numbers and interviewed in English by telephone using live interviewers. This shows an increase of one percent to her numbers, which last month was 46 percent, and a decrease to Trump’s total which was 41 percent.
Since then, Trump has engaged in a days-long feud with the family of an American soldier killed in Iraq and squabbled with the Republican leadership over his comments and leadership turmoil within his campaign.
“This administration is committed to working with both the Democratic nominee and the Republican nominee”, White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said at a briefing on Wednesday. “We have to acknowledge that, but let’s not lose sight of the real pain that many Americans are feeling”.
When Clinton and Trump voters were asked if their vote is for their candidate or against the other, 67 percent of Clinton voters said their vote was for her while 28 percent said it was more of a vote against Trump. So I think that we have to recognize that some of the appeal is xenophobic, and racist, and misogynistic, and offensive.
Clinton also addressed immigration, an issue toward which Trump has taken a decidedly hard line.
She’s going to have to do a lot better than that if she’s ever going to convince voters she’s trustworthy.
The poll of 1,940 adults age 18-30 was conducted July 9-20 using a sample drawn from the probability-based GenForward panel, which is created to be representative of the USA young adult population. The exchanges were selected to ensure that each region was represented in proportion to its population.
The original sample was drawn from two sources. Results are statistically significant within 2.9 percentage points. The margin of sampling error is higher for subgroups.
