Accident investigators are working to determine the cause of the accident, but police suspect it appears to be drag racing.

Wilczynski said the identities of the deceased victims would likely not be released until Friday, but that they were from the area in the Northeast where the crash occurred. Philadelphia Police Captain Deshawn Beaufort warned about the dangers of drag racing, “It only takes a second to lose control of a vehicle and have a senseless loss of life”. He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. One was a sixteen year old girl, but police do not yet know the age of the other victim.
