The second season of “Empire” will be coming to a close next week, and based on what we’re starting to figure out about the finale “Past Is Prologue”, it’s going to be an hour that has jaws on the floor and also potentially bodies in bags. That seems to be an important area of the body – speaking from a layman with no medical experience other than many seasons of hospital shows under her belt – but, also not a fatal location (like the heart, or you know, the head).
Episode 17 of Empire Season 2 airs Wednesday night on Fox. As they sit in the waiting room, they learn that neither Jamal nor Lucious won song of the year because the vote was split. Lucious had initially wanted to prove to the board that he should be reinstated as CEO of his company after being betrayed by his youngest rapper son, Hakeem. Despite their love-hate relationship and witty banter exchanged between them in every scene, they really do make a good team-just not a good couple.
Lucious (Terrence Howard) takes Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) with him to the American Sound Awards in episode 17 of “Empire” Season 2. Sometimes just discussing the shows plot twists is honestly the best part for fans; it’s like any after party after an award show.

After the argument with his father, Jamal turns to Cookie. Jamal gets offended and the two start arguing, with Lucious saying that he’ll be happy the day Jamal dies from AIDS.

The FBI will also be looking more into Lucious. Probably not for the latter, but we can hope. Cookie and Lucious decide to attend the awards together after all and as they are getting ready they reminisce about the hard times before they got where there are. This is a man who killed Bunky and didn’t lose sleep or even sweat in prison over it, but a little old lady has him anxious? Thus, more arcs on the dynamics between the couple are yet to be revealed. After filing that tidbit away, she waves his concern aside, promising to keep her identity a secret – now we know where Lucious learned all his conniving from.
