New England Patriots No Longer Perfect, Fall to Denver Broncos
Some folks – majority with ties in the northeast – were less than pleased with the officials’ collective performance in the New England Patriot’s 30-24 loss to the Denver Broncos on Sunday.

Starting for the injured Peyton Manning, Osweiler drove the Broncos 83 yards to give the Broncos a lead in the fourth quarter, then called the ideal play in overtime to set up the win.
“Clever Facebook post, Tom Brady”, the post read. They eventually won in overtime, 30-24, when C.J.
Perhaps to summarize Esaison’s point, Brady mentioned a play in which he felt a penalty wasn’t called, saying he thought a Broncos defender “hooked” Patriots receiver Brandon LaFell on the first play from scrimmage in overtime. “(He was) just a positive reinforcement as we’re playing. “I know everyone wants an instant analysis, but I think it’s more important to be right than to just jump in and start talking about a lot of stuff that’s inaccurate”. The intention was to give the team added depth at quarterback behind Osweiler and rookie Trevor Siemian.
“This league is about overcoming adversity many, many, many times over”. “We’re just in the driver’s seat right now”, Redskins defensive end Jason Hatcher said. “But, yeah, it was fun”. It is a game the Patriots should have won, but they didn’t, and it is time to accept that.
Against New England, which brought the NFL’s third-ranked run defense into Denver, the Broncos ran for 179 yards on 32 carries and three touchdowns.
Monday, after the Broncos’ recorded their second victory in Manning’s absence, coach Gary Kubiak said questions remain about Manning’s timetable. Osweiler, a second-round pick who spent three and a half years on the bench, has played well, with just one interception in his two starts, and the Broncos have been able to maintain their three-game lead in the AFC West. Hopefully we can use it as motivation going forward. You’d like to feel like at the end of the year that we’re as good as we can be. “As players, we trust both guys. We’re not there yet”.
“We will need to rely on him quite a bit”, Brady said. “We didn’t get many [calls] last night”. “When I got the ball, I saw (tackle) Ryan (Harris) get through the hole, and I knew if he could, I could too”.
And when exactly did Gaudelli decide to use the virtual numbers last night? But when you go low, that’s what happens.
Some notable injures occurred Sunday night in the win; safety T.J. For one team, it changed the course of a season, putting them in the mindset that they can beat anyone, especially with a little known backup quarterback leading the charge. Home-field advantage, something Patriots fans took for granted a week ago, is no longer a sure thing with Denver and Cincinnati lurking at 9-2.
“We had hoped to get through without him”.
