The Patriots are doing their due diligence on scouting quarterback Lamar Jackson. On paper, Wynn seems like a prototypical Patriot. Jackson also is the only player in FBS history to rush for at least 1,500 yards and pass for at least 3,500 yards in a season – accomplishing it in 2016 and 2017. Theoretically, they have enough picks to do that, but they might also have some options at the bottom half of the first round.
Who could the Patriots be looking at? This year’s tackle class isn’t deep, but there are a couple of first-round options.
That could lead the Patriots to look for a more developmental type.

The unrealistic expectations hurt Jackson’s ability to repeat as the Heisman Trophy victor, but he was a finalist in 2017 and finished third in voting behind Oklahoma’s Baker Mayfield and Stanford’s Bryce Love. Jackson is more than confident he can command that offense in the National Football League, too.

With Nate Solder in NY with the Giants, the Patriots have collected a laundry list of potential replacements. The 6-foot-5 Rudolph had a private workout with the Patriots.
Haven’t we been here before? The 39-year-old has a contract he signed this offseason that runs through the 2019 season.
That deal followed the preseason trade of Brissett to Indianapolis.
This year they may not have that luxury.
