New England Patriots vs Buffalo Bills

I’m sitting back here, I’ll answer your question, you know, whatever. “I can promise you”. The Patriots have had difficulty with young quarterbacks in recent years and having to travel to Denver to play this game at a stadium that is one of the toughest in the National Football League is definitely a concern.

The Buffalo Bills (5-4) are coming from a 22-17 win over the NY Jets last week. However, the Patriots are 13-1 straight up over their last 14 home games against Buffalo. The offense took a blow last week when Julian Edelman suffered a foot injury that has him out indefinitely.

Of course, Brady’s still playing, said linebacker Preston Brown.

Rex Ryan had another press conference Friday, and the topic again went back to his conference call with the Patriots media from the day before. “I’m exhausted of [saying], “Hey, he’s the best.’ No kidding”, Ryan said”. I think we’ll play a lot smarter than we are. “We’re a better group than the first time defensively”.

That means we get to hear a bunch of nonsense out of the talking heads prior to its start.

SERIES HISTORY: 111th regular-season meeting.

Ryan’s teams always seem to play up to New England for a few reason or another, and he seems determined to beat the Patriots. But as analyst Matt Sabuda points out, as long as quarterback Tom Brady is healthy, the Patriots will remain a formidable foe. Now more than two months later the players on Dennis Thurman’s unit believe they’ve developed an on field rapport with one another and with the preferences of their defensive coordinator. Against the Jets’ No. 1 rush defense, the Bills ran for 148 yards last week. In Foxborough, the Patriots have been stout against the run, allowing just 3.3 yards per carry to opposing running backs.

Brady had season highs of 38 completions and 466 yards to go with three touchdown passes. Things are different this time, though, as the Patriots will be without RB Dion Lewis and WR Julian Edelman who combined for 247 yards from scrimmage in the first game. He led the Patriots to a 40-32 victory, even after a last ditch effort by Tyrod Taylor, heloping the Bills get a 24-point comeback in the fourth quarter, but it wasn’t enough to get the win.

If Taylor is able to lead the Bills to the playoffs, both the 2015 incentive and 2016 salary escalator would double.

Despite being slowed by a bum hamstring, McCoy, who has also dealt with shoulder woes, gained 89 yards and averaged 5.9 yards a carry against the Patriots in Week 2.

The Bills got all the help they needed on Sunday with the Raiders, Dolphins, and Jets all losing. That game was in Buffalo, and now the Patriots will be the host team.
