New Facebook reactions arrive – but where’s the dislike button?
Facebook users have reacted to this development by expressing their disappointment for not including the much anticipated dislike button which was clamoured for past year.

Facebook Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg said in September the company was thinking of adding a “dislike” button, which spearheaded a debate over whether it would increase cyber bullying and negativity on the site.
Facebook launched a pilot of “Reactions” – which allowed users to select from seven emotions including “Angry”, “Sad”, “Wow” and “Like” – in Ireland and Spain in October. The company looked at the one word comments left by the users on their friends posts to come up with the reactions. The two reactions were: confused and yay. The reactions are easy to access and understand, there is haha, wow, love, sad and angry.
Are you able to see and use Facebook’s reaction buttons? Facebook has confirmed that Reactions will evolve over time and that options may be changed depending on feedback. This convinced Facebook that it could release them around the world without confusing users.
For starters, brands can now get a more nuanced view of engagement sentiment on their Facebook pages.
To use the new button on the mobile app, you will just have to press down the Like button, and the new buttons will emerge, after which you can then pick whichever emoji you like. The buttons appear on desktops when users hover over the “Like” button.
It is worthy to note that the update will take a day or more to roll out to everyone, hence, users are advised to be patient if they are yet to see them.

If you’re still on Facebook, you’re probably used to seeing those hearts and faces other than the famous “Like” hand. Let us know in the comments.
