WalletHub.com compiled a listing of the best and worst states to have a baby, looking into delivery charges, child care costs and availability, pediatricians per capita and other infant-related info.

According to the study, the best three states to have a kid are Vermont, Maine and CT, while the three worst were Mississippi, Louisiana and Alabama.

Good news for expecting parents in CT, turns out it’s one of the best states to have a baby.

As for the worst states to have a baby, any guesses?

When looking at delivery costs, NY ranks 50th, followed only by Alaska.

Having a child isn’t cheap, especially in NY. Vermont earned best in the nation.

Florida’s best ranking was the number of pediatricians and family doctors per capita, which came in just above average in 20th place.
