The rumors were true: Apple’s next-generation iPhones, the 7 and 7 Plus, traded the headphone jack for Lightning EarPods.

These little headphones are not connected to each other by a wire like most wireless headphones, and use infra-red technology to sense when they’re in your ears.
One of the most welcome reveals at Apple’s event on Wednesday was the new standard storage options for the iPhone 7.
New fitness and health capabilities include the breakthrough Breathe app, created to encourage users to take a moment in their day to do deep breathing exercises for relaxation and stress reduction. The phones will also work with Apple’s new wireless headphones, called Air Pods, available in late October at a price of $159. It’s also seen a drop in demand for the Apple Watch since its introduction previous year. Some consumers and analysts are considering waiting until 2017.
The lighting port will be located at the bottom of the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus. That’s something Jobs was famous for whenever he showed off new products.
Apple also removed the analog headphone jack from both new models, as was widely expected.
At the keynote, Apple CEO Tim Cook announced that Apple has become number two watch after Rolex in just 18 months after the launch. That’s what they say anyway (see below). Apple’s stock shed 29 cents to $107.41 in late afternoon trading. The stock is slightly below its value a year ago, when the last iPhone came out.
Piper Jaffray’s Gene Munster is among the industry analysts predicting more dramatic changes to the iPhone next fall to herald the 10-year anniversary of the first model. Also, it will be more expensive.
Issues: Dual cameras only come in the bigger and pricier iPhone 7 Plus.
Telephoto lenses are designed to create a narrower field of view for long-focus, which basically means more detailed images without the need to get up close and personal. Orders will start this Friday.
For the conventional user, Apple will also offer the phones in silver, gold and rose gold hues.
According to the Apple website, the new iPhone 7 model will start at $649 dollars, and $769 dollars for the iPhone 7 Plus. All iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus models will include EarPods with Lightning Connector and a Lightning to 3.5 mm Headphone Jack Adapter.
Apple said its Apple Watch Series 2, with a swim-proof casing, will be available in more than 25 countries starting on September 16.
One of the worst kept secrets of the iPhone 7 was Apple’s intention to eradicate the obsolete input to save more space.
The company also used Wednesday’s showcase to introduce a new generation of its smartwatches, which will include Global Positioning System tracking and enough water resistance to swim with.

Now Apple is hoping to boost sales of its smartwatch brand even further by launching an updated tech timepiece called the Apple Watch Series 2. The processor gets faster.
