“You should have seen him”, Trump said of Rubio.

Cruz was left out of the equation entirely; Christie did not talk about Cruz in his endorsement of Trump, but instead attacked Rubio, seeming to cast Rubio as Trump’s sole remaining rival. “He is a strong and resolute leader, and he is someone who will lead the Republican Party to victory over Hillary Clinton, which is the single most important thing we can do”.

The endorsement by the New Jersey governor gives Trump, from neighboring NY, a lift ahead of next week’s crucial Super Tuesday nominating contests.

“The fact of the matter is, no one’s gonna get inside this guy’s head… there is no better fighter than Donald Trump”, Christie said.

Kasich’s team fired back this week after numerous polls from Florida showed Rubio trailing Trump in Rubio’s home state. “Or number two, just like Trump Tower, he must have hired a foreign worker to do his own tweets”, he said.

The GOP front-runner took to Twitter Friday morning to unleash against rivals Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz who took him on during Thursday evening’s GOP debate.

“Generally speaking I’m not big on endorsements”, he said.

“I wasn’t really surprised”, said McDonald, a former state Republican chairman.

“I am proud to be here to endorse Donald Trump”, said Christie, noting he and the former reality TV star had been friends for the last ten years, the New York Times reported. “Now the news for the next 24 hours is going to be about Christie and Trump”.

Cruz also held an event Friday in Beaumont, Texas before flying to Nashville for an event with conservative commentator Sean Hannity. “I think it’s sad for the voters because you don’t get a debate on policy…it’s all mudslinging and, quite honestly, I think it looks like a circus for the Republican party”. Fortunately for Christie, he seems to have found his sweet spot. Rubio continued on Friday morning, calling Trump “a con artist” during a round of morning television interviews.
