New ‘Jessica Jones,’ ‘Daredevil’ and ‘Punisher’ No Earlier Than 2018
The series takes place after the events of Jessica Jones, in which Luke shared a heated sexual relationship with Jessica (Krysten Ritter) before learning she killed his wife. “I need Mike to be in a television show”.

“We have no agenda, but I’m proud that people do think he’s a good superhero and I hope black people can feel good about him as well”, Colter says. “And it needed to be that way; it’s Jessica’s story”.
“It’s important in the landscape of television, but also globally as far as symbols and people … when they look at black culture I think it’s important that they have positive images”, he explains during a panel at the TCA summer TV press tour. So, you don’t get to see where he goes when he’s not with her. He exists within her world. “It’s no different from anything else, except we get to have swagger”.
“Luke Cage” premieres on Netflix on September 30. “Anything is possible”, Loeb said.
We’ve seen plenty of crossovers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe when characters from the movies visit the TV shows.
“We’re just trying to tell a story”, he explains. Jessica Jones Season 2 was said to film back-to-back with The Defenders, with The Punisher starting production sometime thereafter, but Jones, Castle and the newly-announced Daredevil Season 3 will all wait until at least 2018. So really, you can’t really blame Netflix for waiting a couple of years for the next season of an old familiar like Daredevil.

Fans of both Daredevil and Jessica Jones should be getting their fill of both characters in The Defenders, which is promising, but as for The Punisher, it isn’t entirely clear what kind of role he’ll have in The Defenders just yet.
