Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson insists his upcoming “Jumanji” movie is not a reboot, but a “continuation” of the 1995 story.
When we heard that a new version of Jumanji was in the pipeline it had us anxious.
When it comes to Dwayne Johnson’s movie roles, it’s very seldom the actor causes outrage with his fans – but when he announced he was resurrecting Robin Williams family classic Jumanji, it’s fair to say people weren’t too impressed. “Man this is gonna be FUN”, he wrote.
What is clear is that the casting of Johnson, Hart, and Black tells us there’s going to be a strong action-comedy element to the movie, so for now we’ll continue to speculate over just when and where this “Jumanji” will be set. You can check out the Instagram post below.
“He literally calmed me down w/ that smile and laugh”.
Jake Kasdan (Bad Teacher, Sex Tape, Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story) will direct with a script from Con-Air and High Fidelity scribe Scott Rosenberg.
