New Mexico shoppers look to save money over tax-free holiday

Tax Free Week was first enacted in 2000, and applies to most clothing and footwear purchases intended for everyday use.

Schools in Chester County will begin August 15 and parents shopping for school supplies for their students will have a chance once again this year to purchase many of them tax free as SC goes into the tax-free weekend, beginning on Friday and running through midnight on Sunday.

Typically the weekend before school starts is tax-free.
