New Mexico unemployment rate declines slightly in February
Nebraska’s preliminary unemployment rate held steady at 3 percent in February over a month earlier but was up slightly from 2.8 percent in February 2015. “Given the number of layoff announcements over recent months, I’m pleased the increase isn’t bigger”.

The state’s seasonally adjusted rate of unemployment slipped to 3.6 per cent in February this year.
There were 28,785 more Arkansans in the labor force compared with February 2015 and 45,192 more Arkansans who were employed in the past year.
The jobless rate fell to 6.5 percent from 6.7 percent in January.
The trade, transportation and utility segment added about 3,500 jobs in February. Odessa was 5.6, up from 5.4.
February’s labor force participation rate – the percentage of people 16 years and older with jobs or looking for work – remained at 64.1 percent for the third consecutive month.
Contraction was found in the Professional & Business Services (-3,000) and Manufacturing (-2,600) sectors.
However, the jobs sector the agency describes as “Goods Producing”, which includes construction, manufacturing and mining, lost 18,700 jobs in February and has lost 88,300 jobs year-to-year.
The Cedar Rapids metropolitan statistical area (MSA) added 200 nonfarm jobs from January, bringing employment to 141,900 in February.
A separate survey showed MS payrolls added a strong 5,000 jobs in February, pushing payrolls nearly 1.5 percent higher than in February 2015.
Other Services gained 900 (+0.7%) jobs over the month.

“We continue to build local partnerships to equip the current and future workforce with the skills needed for the jobs being created by Texas employers”, said Texas Workforce Commissioner chairman Andres Alcantar.
