New Nintendo Selects bring hit games to a new low price
It might just be August, but it seems like Nintendo might already be gearing up for the holidays with today’s announcement of more titles getting the Nintendo Selects label and some aggressively priced bundles. This bundle, that releases on August 26, will cost $149.99 and include two Mario-themed faceplates, Super Mario 3D Land, and the console itself.

The bundle also features a pair of removable faceplates players can adorn to the front and back of their 3DS, with one featuring a collection of 8-bit Nintendo sprites and the other displaying a rather serious looking Mario. These are less heavily discounted, but are considerably less expensive than buying the game and figure separately. Mario Party 10 will come with either Peach or Bowser.
Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker: Includes Toad amiibo, which unlocks an extra game mode.

Finally, Nintendo also announced that it will be dropping the price on a few amiibo bundles, bringing them down to $39.99. Amiibo unlocks extra game modes and can collect daily rewards in-game. Unlocks double Yoshi mode in game and allows patterns to be saved. Digital Spy points out that it’s unlike Nintendo to approach big time third-party developers for game development, as it has not done this for its previous consoles, such as the Wii U. But gamers are definitely looking forward to what these “talks” will deliver, and hopefully it would be for the improvement of the gaming industry. A 2DS that comes preloaded with Mario Kart 7 for $79.99 was also mentioned, but I don’t believe that’s a new product. Animal Crossing: New Leaf and Wind Waker HD joining the Nintendo Selects lineup is particularly noteworthy as well, considering those are two of the best games available on their respective platforms.
