The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge released new photographs of Prince George to celebrate his birthday, as he turned three on Friday.

Kate and William revealed that the images were taken by photographer Matt Porteous at the family’s Norfolk mansion, Anmer Hall in mid-July.

Prince George is celebrating his third birthday.

George, the third-in-line to the British throne, was pictured with the family dog Lupo and playing in the grounds of the country mansion in Norfolk, east England, which belongs to his parents, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. “It was a very relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere”, the message from Porteous reads. Today that much-anticipated bundle, Prince George, is an utterly adorable 3-year-old boy.

In the first portrait George can be seen walking through the gardens at his home in a striped whale print jumper that is now reduced to £33.60 in the sale at Pepa & Co., paired with £36 taupe shorts from the same label and his trusty £15 navy Hampton Nantucket canvas shoes from Trotters.

Prince George sits on a wooden swing, which is engraved with his parents’ initials, in one of the images.

Kensington Palace has not addressed the question of whether the treat is dog-friendly or not, despite activists automatically assuming that it’s a white chocolate covered ice cream. As sweet as the scene seems, the RSPCA released a statement saying that people should be careful when feeding food meant for human consumption to dogs, particularly mentioning that dairy items “can be hard for them to digest”.

In another of the new pictures he is pictured standing on a swing inscribed “William & Catherine” – believed to be a wedding present to the couple. The Internet went nuts on the royal family this week, after candid photos of George offering a lick of ice cream to the family’s pet dog were released to the public.
